Overview
Seachem Equilibrium is a mineral supplement for planted freshwater aquariums, designed to replenish minerals and raise general hardness (GH). It is particularly useful when preparing reverse-osmosis/deionized (RO/DI) water or other mineral-deficient water for an aquarium.

Dosing Guide
To raise GH by 1 meq/L (approximately 3 dGH), add 16 g per 80 L of water (approximately 21 US gallons). Scale the dose to the volume being treated and the required increase in GH. Follow the current product label if its directions differ.
Test the starting GH before dosing and select a target appropriate for your plants and livestock. During water changes, calculate the dose for the replacement water rather than automatically dosing the full aquarium volume again.
Mixing and Application
- Measure the required quantity for the water being prepared.
- Premix the measured dose with approximately 1 L of water, following the label's mixing directions.
- Add the mixture during initial setup or when preparing replacement water for a water change.
- Allow adequate mixing and circulation, then check GH before making further adjustments.
The premixed solution may appear opaque, and temporary aquarium cloudiness can occur after application. Allow it to disperse; clearing time varies with conditions.
Routine Use and Storage
- Use testing to guide repeat additions and avoid unnecessary changes in mineral hardness.
- Make adjustments carefully to avoid abrupt changes for existing livestock.
- Do not use the product as a substitute for regular water changes or a complete aquarium maintenance routine.
- Keep the container tightly closed, store according to the label and keep out of reach of children and pets.
