Overview
Seachem Flourish Nitrogen is a concentrated nitrogen supplement for planted freshwater aquariums. It provides nitrogen in nitrate and ammonium forms to complement a fertilizing routine where additional nitrogen is needed.

Assess existing nutrient levels before dosing. Plant growth also depends on appropriate lighting, carbon availability and other nutrients; this supplement does not correct every cause of poor growth.
Starting Dose
Use 2.5 ml per 160 L of aquarium water twice weekly, or as needed according to the current product label and your aquarium's nitrogen requirements. Measure smaller quantities with a suitable dosing tool and calculate the dose using actual water volume.
The starting dose supplies nitrogen equivalent to approximately a 1 mg/L nitrate increase. This is a nitrate-equivalent measure of the nitrogen supplied, not a promise that a nitrate test will show that exact increase.
Monitoring and Adjustments
- Consider nitrogen already supplied by feeding, livestock waste and other fertilizers.
- Monitor nutrient levels and plant condition before increasing the dose.
- Do not treat nitrogen and nitrate values as interchangeable when calculating targeted additions. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for advanced dosing and the units used by your test kit.
- Stunted growth or yellowing can have several causes and do not confirm nitrogen deficiency on their own.
- Continue regular water changes and avoid exceeding label directions.
